This session explores the sixth Beatitude—“God’s favor is on the merciful, for they will be shown mercy”—and what it means to make mercy a way of life. Tracing the theme of God’s mercy from the Old Testament mercy seat through Jesus’ death and the tearing of the temple curtain, we see how Christ’s mercy toward us becomes the foundation for how we treat others.

The story of the Good Samaritan provides a practical picture of biblical mercy: it sees distress, responds with compassion, takes tangible action, and extends help even across lines of hostility and enmity. This video explores how the mercy we receive from God should move outward through forgiveness, compassion, care for the vulnerable, and practical action as we live out the values of God’s Kingdom.
